Bon Jour!

If you are reading this, and you are in France, I would like to extend my warmest welcome to you! I have seen over the past few weeks on this blog, that half of our total viewers are indeed from France! It is from the bottom of my heart, along with my fellow Krispy Hippo’s, that we say a very thankyou to all out fans who are keeping following our blog with such expectancy and anticipation of what is to come from us! I know we have been quiet recently after our Solbar performance, but that is only because we have been in the studio working hard to create music for all of our INTERNATIONAL fans for you to enjoy! Thanks again all you French Hippo’s! See you soon! Love, H.

#StudioVibes

That’s right, you read that correct. There are rumours that the Krispy Hippo’s are in the studio, recording a fresh new EP consisting of four originals that’s going to hit the shelves worldwide next June! You can expect some finger lickin’ good synth riffs from G Lilley, and some energetic pop vibes from the rest of the gang. We look forward to sharing out work with you all! Love, H.

Thank You

On behalf of the Krispy Hippo’s, I personally, Harrison Norman, would like to thank all of you committed fans that made it out to our Solbar performance on the 15 th of October! We had a ball, and it was so genuinely exciting to see all of your beautiful faces! I’m also quite very thankful for the one and only Georgia Lilley, one of my fellow band members, who said YES to going to the formal with me! Once again, thanks for coming, hopefully I’ll see you all soon! Stay tuned for more, Love, H.

The Perfect Hippo

What makes the perfect hippo you say? A moist hippo? A crusty hippo? A wallowing hippo? Evidentially, there is room in the music industry for one type of hippo, and that is the Krispy Hippo’s. Wildlife Conservation US states that in 2006, the hippo population was at an all time low having between 125,000 to 150,000 hippos worldwide, which is a 20% decrease from the study undertaken in 1996! Little did they know at the time though, that they miscalculated the study, because they forgot about FIVE KRISPY HIPPOS right here on the Sunshine Coast! Not only for our glory, but if you join our hippo army, I’m positive that the population of hippo’s worldwide can increase to an all time high in the next coming months along side the launch of our new EP coming soon! What are you waiting for? Join the Hippo army today and sign up for our exclusive updates here on the blog! Love, H.
Next week is the big day!!  Solbar !! This is what we have been working so hard for throughout these past 5 weeks! We are all so keen for you to hear us play and hopefully you are all as keen as we are to be there! Hopefully we’ll see a number of you down there to support us at our very first gig. See you soon!   Peace!   Jaiden! :-)
Now we come back to the  Krispy Hippos. We’ve been keeping up to date with all our fan mail. Hope all of you got your letter back :-)   This week we have working on perfecting all the songs for our  Solbar  bar performance on the 15 th  of October. I’d like to tell you all the songs, but we are keeping it a surprise for all of you! We are so keen to be able to get to play for all of you and have you hear our sweet as songs!   Jaiden :-)

Someone New

This week on the Krispy Hippos – don  don   don , kidding.   But seriously.  This week we have been putting our minds together to learn a bunch of new songs cover songs for you people. Any suggestions?   We are currently learning “Someone New” by  Hozier .  Just a chill song about loving a bunch of strangers and sending your love out to the world.  Which is pretty cool I guess. Hopefully you guys will be into this song as much as we are.   Until next time   Peace   Jaiden :-)

A Little About Me...

Hey Everyone! So I am 1 part of the Krispy Hippos. Let me introduce myself. My name is Jaiden Spence; I am 19 years old and just about to finish a certificate 3 in music. I play acoustic guitar, electric guitar, keyboard and sing. My main influences in music are Ben Howard, Ziggy Alberts, Ed Sheeran and Passenger. I started playing music when I was around 8 years old when mum and dad bought me my first guitar and got me some lessons so I could actually learn how to play rather than just sitting and strumming the strings. I started singing only 2 years ago so I’m pretty new to this part. But am progressing quickly (at least I hope so  ahah ).   So t here you go, just a little about myself   Jaiden :-)

Sneak Peak SolBar

Hey Hips! Haven't posted in a while and just wanted to let you know of some sneaky inside information about the upcoming Solbar performance... Some covers of songs by artists such as Years & Years, Thirsty Merc, Hozier and Charlie Puth. So feel free to check out those amazing artists! Looking forward to waving at you on Ocean Street. Fried and Friendly, Krispy Georgia

SolBar

Hey fans of the Krispy Hips! Just an update on our music progress. We recently had the privilege to play at Suncoast Christian College Arts on Twilight Festival and it was insanely awesome! Unfortunately one Hippo (Emily) bit the dust and couldn't dazzle us with her vocal skills but we managed to push through anyway and had a great time. The next performance you can expect to see us at is on the  15th of October  at Solbar on Ocean Street. Come hang and say hi we have some new material we are excited to show to you. Much love, A Krispy Georgia Lilley

Band Member Profiles

Meet the band profile 2: The Krispy Hippos very own ivory tickler - Emmerson Madden. What a lady, what a sight! This human is like no other and has a caring heart of gold. Talented from the tips of her fingers to the bottom of her right pedal playing foot Emmerson never fails to impress. Let's be honest she's practically Antonio Vivaldi and we for one would listen to her play and sing all season. Born and bread to be on the stage many people might recognize her from the internationally famous group 'Go Frills'. Unfortunately she was too good for a world wide audience and hung up her wig to pursue a carrier touring with fried animals (TKH). Keep watching this space for more member profiles and don't forget to follow us on Instagram! @the.krispy.hippos - Georgia

Band Member Profiles

Meet the band profile 1:  Harrison Black or better known as H. Harry is The Krispy Hippos very own lead guitarist and can play anything with 4+ strings, including your heart.  Fun fact: The Suncoast Church/Youth band once featured his amazing ukulele skills and longs for someone to take over form the legacy he has left behind. Harry still continues to play ever week slapin' dat bass and dancing for the man (the man being God of course). This talented blonde Matthew Healy lookalike is always encouraging the rest of the band to pursue their goals in and outside of the studio. Stay tuned for more member profiles! - Georgia
